You can help the city out with updating their community plan by filling in a new survey.
Called the Official Community Plan, it’s a strategic vision for the future of Campbell River, focused on guiding how neighbourhoods are designed, how folks move around, how land is used, and what amenities the city provides.
The city says they’re updating the plan, which comes as the community has seen rapid growth since the last review of the plan back in 2012. They expect their population to grow up to around 42,000 in the next two decades.
Mayor Kermit Dahl says with the current rapid change, a clear and concise plan is needed.
“As we develop this roadmap we want as many Campbell Riverites to contribute as possible so that we capture the community’s collective vision for the future,” said Dahl.
They say the update will take place through five phases, with the update to be finalized sometime between Fall and Winter this year. Currently, the project is in the second phase, which is about vision and policy direction.
As part of this project, the city has launched an online survey, where you can share what you enjoy about living in Campbell River, and what would you like to see changed for the future.
You have until May 1 to fill it in.
