Walk-in patients will not be able to access the outpatient lab at North Island Hospital, Campbell River this weekend.
Island Health says they made the decision to “ensure reliable, consistent acute, emergency inpatient laboratory service.”
Walk-in service will close on Saturday and will reopen on Monday. They say patients needing walk-in outpatient services can go to the LifeLabs location in Courtenay.
During the closure, the health authority says inpatient lab work, emergency sample collections and sample drop-off will continue on Saturday hours from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Island Health says they acknowledge the inconvenience of the change.
