Carihi students are putting on a special performance this week to raise funds for all the theatre equipment destroyed in a fire in November.
Titled “From the Smoke to the Spotlight,” the musical will be hosted at the Tidemark Theatre on April 15 and 16. All proceeds will go towards next year’s Carihi Musical Theatre production and help to replace some of the costumes, sets, props, lighting and sound equipment lost in the fire.
Meanwhile, School District 72 Superintendent Geoff Manning says over spring break, the fire-damaged A wing was demolished, and most Carihi students are now back on campus after some classes needed to be moved off site.
He says site preparation will soon begin to install four portable classrooms during the summer break, to be ready for next year.
