The Strathcona Regional District is looking for feedback on a zoning bylaw regulation in a new survey.
The bylaw is for Cortes Island, which regulates the total lot coverage for all buildings, and limits the total building area for all buildings on a given property.
Director of Electoral Area B is asking the district to explore a new regulation as part of a final review of the bylaw, which if approved, would limit the maximum floor area for single detached dwellings.
The district says the regulation could also affect dwelling construction, where if someone were to make a dwelling above the floor area, legal action could be taken based on complaints, leading to either a part of or a whole dwelling to be possibly demolished.
As a result, a survey is now open for you to give thoughts on the regulation.
Only six questions are part of the survey, which is due by March 7 at noon.
