One individual was safely taken into custody following a mental health crisis incident in Campbell River Monday night.
The incident happened on January 20 around 8:00 p.m. when Campbell River RCMP received a report of a person suffering from a mental health episode.
They were able to get the District Emergency Response Team and an RCMP Crisis Negotiator to aid in the situation.
Cst. Maury Tyre said they thank everyone in the neighbourhood for their patience during the enhanced police presence time.
“In high-risk situations, to have everything resolved peacefully is a testament to the professionalism, compassion, and skills of our members.”
