A landmark business in Campbell River is closing after 25 years.
Sports Experts in the Tyee Plaza will soon be shutting down permanently, after the lease expired and the mall’s owners have chosen to continue with a new tenant in the space.
For decades, kids have purchased their soccer and hockey equipment from the store, which has also served as a supplier of all other types of sports gear, shoes, and clothing.
Owner Jonathan Shead says he has until around May to close the store, and that details of the closing-down sale will be shared in the coming days.
Tyee Plaza owners the Molnar Group say the new tenant that will be filling the space is a national grocery chain, with a formal announcement in the next six months.
