Public meetings coming to rural regions to review new short-term rental rules

With summer tourism starting, rural regions around Campbell River are making changes to accommodate new provincial rules for short-term rentals.

This spring, to open access to more rental housing, the province banned rentals for less than 90 days in communities with more than 10,000 people, unless it’s a primary residence. Communities under 10,000 people have more options, and the Strathcona Regional District is poised to pass customized rules for Quadra and Cortez Islands, and Area D south of Campbell River.

Public meetings are coming for residents to review and comment on the new rules.

Cortes Island

Meeting to review Bylaw No. 563 is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Mansons Hall located at 983 Beasley Road, Cortes Island, BC

Area D
